This is the fifth doll I own by this artist. I bought her in March but she just arrived today. I had no plans to buy another doll but when she reduced the price, I took it as a sign. I'd been admiring her for a while and she was made to be seated; she called out to me like the MARIE LAVEAU Voodoo Queen . I'm not sure what her story is as of yet, but I could envision her hanging over the balcony calling out to pedestrians. The cook, maid and hat shop customer are all made by this artist. I feel the New Orleans dollhouse has a unique spirit about it, the story constantly changes for me. I see it some days as a family home during the 19th century, other times as a historic home turned into a museum with tours given by the descendants of the original family and then as a brothel with girls hanging off the balcony or maybe she is modern and in costume to attract patrons to the museum. This was the story in my mind the day I bought her.

Another exquisite purchase from https://www.etsy.com/shop/CuteinMiniature I almost feel like a lottery winner whenever I go to her shop and find something so special not already sold! I love all of her little masterpieces. My decisions are made strictly on two things: #1-Would I like to eat it? and #2-Is it available? While waiting on my "blueberry french toast", I saw "blueberry muffins" in her store and couldn't resist and purchased it earlier. The two seemed like a perfect pair for breakfast. I love meat dishes, especially ones that are "southern style" and remind me of my mother and grandmother's cooking. So my mini dream came true with skillet fried chicken!

OMG!!! When I tell you that a long time dream has come true (I am writing this through tear filled eyes by the way), words can not express the joy I have... its like Christmas x10! I have admired her dolls but never knew where to purchase them, then I finally found her website but they were always sold. I had given up hope of ever owning one beautiful doll of hers. I just love the expressive qualities of their faces, their skin has a warm radiating glow that reminds me of an impressionist painting and the clothing is amazing. Mary Cassatt always comes to mind when I see her mother and children together.
my bargain "Painted Lady Dollhouse". I had planned to build and sell it but I after I found a picture online of a simpler exterior, realized now what I hated about the kit. I have a few ideas of my own too now that I am inspired by my new dolls. Debbie is a wonderful person and I enjoyed our online chat. I look forward to buying more dolls in the future.

This was my purchase this year for the Annual 40% off sale at HobbyBuilders, a Maytag Wringer Washer. The lid opens to reveal the agitator (I think thats what it's called) and the wheels roll. The wringer rotates and comes off. It comes with a an extra pair of wheels in the box. My great grandmother had one and I just thought it was so cute.
I just liked the way the light fell in the unfinished dining room, so I added it to the post just because it seemed a little jealous:)
