I bought the beds unfinished so I could design the space first and match the beds to the room. http://jocelynsdollhouse.blogspot.com/2013/02/new-custom-wrought-iron-twin-beds-by.html This room is unfinished and it's on the 4th floor of the New Orleans Townhouse. I wanted something that was both elegant and yet had a notalgic feel to the room. I wanted to dress the beds and the room like an elegant quilt with different textures and patterns in a unified color scheme.
I picked the bed fabrics and trims and drew sketches of what I wanted the bedding to look like and gave it to my mother to make.
I used soft pink color scheme along with neutrals of white and beige and gold accent. I wanted the beds to match but not be identical. The bed for the older sister is muted pink and beige for sophistication of an older sister and the younger sister's bed still has a innocence cuteness of brighter pinks and white. The striped pillow is from a 3D sticker |
Jocelyn,
ReplyDeleteThe beds are just beautiful and suit the room splendidly. Having them slightly differently dressed is wonderful and really suits 'your girls'. Thank you for sharing your pictures.
All the best

Thanks but my mom made the beds, I cannot sew on a button
DeleteBeautiful room, I love the color palette and all the details!
ReplyDeleteThe beds are just gorgeous! It is awesome that your mum made the bedding. It looks really pretty.
ReplyDeleteI like the color variations, it breaks it up a bit and your eye travels from bed to bed. your mum did a great job ;)
