Porch Railings made from Mini Flat Clothes Pins and Spindles

I can't say this was completely my original idea. I love Robin Carey's Dollhouses and the interesting way she reinterprets dollhouse kits. So I was studying one of her houses and I recognized some familiar shapes and I noticed that on this one particular house the fence looked like inverted clothes pins to me. The image stayed with me. I was in HobbyLobby looking around in wood crafts and I noticed these mini flat clothes pins and then I remembered the fence on one of her houses.

I can't decide if I like them up or down so thats why you see two pictures of the balcony railing.

I also picked up some wood to use as the top and bottom to sandwich the clothes pins. I thought way not do the same concept with the short spindles I already have and use theme on the porch. I added some final caps, square dowels and wood squares.

  1. Hello Jocelyn,
That is a great idea. I like both directions on the balcony. I can't wait to see which one you choose.
    Big hug,

  2. It is funny, I think right side up looks better and less like a clothes pin!
