I was in Hobby Lobby buying items for my nephew, who's nursery I am designing. I can never go into the store without stopping by the doll house section and the clearance aisle, which just happens to be side by side. I thought I was having a migraine (which affects my vision sometimes) when I saw the price tag! It was discounted for missing pieces. I asked the lady in the store if the walls were missing she said no and that was all I needed to know. She said she really didn't think anything was missing but the box was found open and could not be sold at regular price. I started feeling light-headed and my heart started racing! I couldn't get it in the basket fast enough, I even picked it up by myself because I was too afraid to leave it. LOL.
I also found this for video $11 (regular price $19) along with doll kits in the clearance section. It is a really good video for someone like me who would like to make my own dolls. She makes everything from scratch and uses oven bake clay. I see how I can easily adapt the techniques to 1:12 dolls. I have how-to-books on making miniature dolls, molds, tools, etc. and I still feel intimidated for some reason. But I plan to make my first one soon.
