White Cafe Set to Hammered Metal Bronze Coffee Bar Tables and Chairs

I try to keep my blog free of personal issues but shortly after my last post I unexpectently lost a very close family member who was a great supporter of my miniature work. So it has been hard to get back into blogging. I had begun to work on the second floor of the building that houses the bakery. This is an old bar converted into a coffee shop and cafe. I started with white Hobby Lobby cafe sets by spray painting them with hammered metal texture in bronze and brown. I also painted the base of the bar stools.

Handmade Custom Logo Rug

I made a custom logo rug for the bakery. I used a cloth covered printer paper designed especially for ink jet printers. I enlarged the design on the computer to the size I wanted and printed the design on the computer printer fabric paper. I bought the paper from JoAnn's craft store in the fabric department. I drew a circle around the image and cut it out.  I used a black foam sheet for the backing and glued the logo to the foam and used the same purple cord from the awning to trim the rug.

Look I'm Famous...ok not really, but it still feels good!

This is a first for me even though it may be an online newsletter from HBS/miniatures.com it feels like National TV!

Almost there...first pictures of Emma's Bakery Interior

I still have some touch ups and a few accessories but for the most part it is 90% complete. I still need to install the lights and add silver to drop ceiling lines, finish painting stools, add the menu and other signs to the walls (these are placeholders until I can print better copies). But other than that here it is! I am still working on the Coffee Bar (design decisions) about 75% complete. I plan to have the grand opening soon.

Bakery Black Asphalt Roof

To create a black asphalt looking roof, I began by spray painting the roof with a flat black paint then I used a stone texture paint called obsidian over the flat paint.
