I decided that I had enough furniture now to show the foundation for a few of the rooms that I have planned for the Le Chateau/Creole Townhouse. I think I need to dry fit the house to get a sense of the size of the rooms because I love the furniture that I have so far, I will really be disappointed if things don't't fit properly. I just placed the furniture sets on top of the dollhouse box and arranged them like rooms. The study has a first and second option set of furniture. I have a set in mind for the master bedroom and the bathroom but the kitchen is still up in the air because I am not sure about the period. The girl's room have matching beds but I am afraid the beds might be too large for the space and will need separate rooms, so I only have a vanity right now (might be painted white later).
This is a scrapbook of the building and decorating of my dream dollhouse, the Mountfield Dollhouse by the Dolls House Emporium, and other added dollhouses.

Furniture Sneak Peek/Creole Townhouse

These are beautiful pieces. Don't you love the planning phase? :]
ReplyDeleteit looks like it could be the early 20's or 30's so that would mean they had a roper stove..I say that because of the little girls sailor suit. will they have a housekeeper?

Thanks for the link and there will be a housekeeper but right now
ReplyDeletei am undecided. I saw a doll I like on Esty but I am thinking about making my own. I have three books on making dolls from polymer clay and a couple of molds and tools. The only thing missing is I just need some courage LOL!
Oh I have mixed emotions about the planning stage for this house and thank you.
ReplyDeleteHi Jocelyn,
ReplyDeleteI feel you on the courage thing. I just acquired several books on dollhousing. I needed one on courage to make the things in them LOL.
I love your furniture choices..very classy!
I remember your getting those dolls and they will fit perfectly!
Waiting to see what you come up with for each room. :-)
