Semi-Scratch Build Kitchen Island

I decided that I needed to updated my kitchen. I started playing around with the idea of the making an island trying to find something to use as a guide, I grabbed my discarded counter from the bakery. It was white and I like the bottom but I needed to match the black counter tops in the rest of the kitchen. I had a small block of MDF, so I spray pained it black but the only black I had was hammered black, so I decided to go for it anyway. I don't know what kind of stone or finish this is but I like the results. I moved the table to the laundry room and moved the washer and dryer to the area underneath the stairs, which used to be the small artist studio.

I moved that equipment into Jada's room until I finish the small dollhouse I bought a while back to use as an art studio.

  1. Hello Jocelyn,
What a great island. I think the finish came out beautiful. I love the open island...so much fun to fill with great pieces and you'll be able to see them properly. Great job.

  2. I like how it turned out, are you going to put formal curtains in the new dining room or cafe curtains?
